Leonard Luka is an artist, songwriter, and producer with Dutch-Indonesian roots. His music is a unique blend of soulful vocals, head-bopping grooves, and warm, nostalgic harmonies. With hyper-personal indie Soul and R&B tracks, he takes you into his colorful multiverse.
He was seen performing at So What’s Next Jazzfestival, Popronde, Sofar Sounds and drew attention from (inter-) national media like 3voor12, NPO Radio 2, NPO Soul & Jazz 3FM & WDR. The single ‘Misdirection’ was featured in the Sublime Top 1000 R&B/Soul songs of all time. In 2023, Leonard got nominated Best Talent and Best Song at the Sublime FM Awards while simultaneously reaching over a two million streams. Recently featured on projects with i.a. .multibeat, Feiertag & Philip Lassiter, his own debut album ‘LAUT’ is set for release later this year.

LAUT ('sea' in Indonesian) is my most personal work to date. It reflects the survival instinct embedded in my DNA, growing up in a world that no longer necessitates it. Waves that sway like in a tumultuous relationship, yet always find their way back to the safe shore. This album moves like water, between the traditional and the modern, serene and rough, love and fear. For the future.
